Gaita madrileña

Gaita madrileña hornpipe of the Sierra of Madrid, with cylindrical pipe of figwood having a cylindrical bore, and provided with 3 front fingerholes and a rear thumbhole. It has a mouth horn and a cow-horn bell. The single reed is also protected by a section of horn. The scale is pentatonic (13; Anuario musical, 1956). Baines, Anthony. Bagpipes. Oxford, 1960.
