Guitarra (Port., Sp.), 1. Sp.: guitar; usually with 6 strings tuned E0 A0 d0 g0 b0 e1, the bass of a family comprising *guitarra tenor, *guitarra requinto, *guitarró, guitarillo; 2. Port.: instr. similar to the Sp. *bandurria but with a far longer neck (the Port. instr. resembling the guitar is called *violão).
