Hellertion
Hellertion [inventors' names], mono-phonic electrophonic instr. of the electronic type, both imitative and nonimitative, invented by B. Helberger and P. Lertes of Leipzig in 1930, with a stretched metal band forming a “manual” (Band-manual) controlled by the pressure of a finger. Later other “manuals” were added, so that several monophonic bands could be played by both hands (W. Meyer-Eppler: Elektrische Klangerzeugung, Bonn, 1949).
