Iqliq

Iqliq obs. *spike fiddle of Turkestan and Arabia, with 2, 3, or 4 strings. Also known in Turkey by the 15th c. if not earlier. Similar to a small kamānja, it is now replaced in Turkey by the rabāb (76). Farmer, Henry George. Turkish Instruments of Music in the 17th Century. Glasgow, 1937.
