Mbugi

Mbugi pellet-bell anklet rattle of the Washambala of Tanganyika, made of iron and containing iron pellets. A number of these, up to 2 1/2 cm. (1 in.) in size, are strung on a strip of goat leather and are worn by male dancers. Also used for ritual purposes at death ceremonies (111).
