Mong 1. medium-sized gong of Thailand, with central boss, of indefinite pitch. Suspended from a tripod stand and struck with padded beaters. Ca. 35 cm. (14 in.) in diam.; 2. *gong chime of Shan State, Burma, composed of 6 gongs with small center bosses and turned rims. Diams. are 11–48 cm. (4–19 in.) (65, 172).
