Nai
Nai [Pers. *nāy], stopped panpipes of Romania, in raft form, now becoming rare. Two centuries or so ago they were composed of 7 or 8 pipes, now they have up to 23. The pitch is varied by the tilt at which the pipes are held. The tuning is to a major scale, that of D or G. Also called muscal.
