Prellmechanik
Prellmechanik (Ger.), piano action in which the hammers point toward the player and are attached either directly or indirectly to the keys. The hammer shank is stopped by a Prelleiste (rail) when a key is depressed. In most actions fitted with a Prelleiste, be they square or grand, the hammers were pivoted on a Kapsel mounted on the key.
