Sistrum smiczocz
Sistrum smiczocz (Czech: bowed sistrum), instr. described by Paulus Paulirinus ca. 1460 as similar to the “cithara” (cittern) but bowed. (Pietro Cerone in 1613 also used the word “sistro” in the sense of cittern). Unfortunately we do not know whether it was related to the polnische Geige (Paulirinus came from Kraków) or the skrzypce.
