Solovox
Solovox monophonic, imitative *electrophonic instr. of the electronic type, made by the Hammond Organ Co. from 1941 on. In appearance it is a piano attachment with 3-oct. keyboard that is clipped onto the keyboard of a conventional piano, with a separate cabinet for tubes and speaker. The Solovox is played with the right hand while the left hand plays an accompaniment on the conventional piano. Tone generation on earlier models was by means of vibrating reeds, but is now completely electronic.
