Trumpe

Trumpe [Fr. trompe], MEngl.: trumpet, made of brass, occasionally of gold. First recorded in Cursor Mundi, ca. 1300, the term is then used in literary sources together with *beme until the latter word disappears ca. 1500 (180). Schad, G.
