Valiha idiochord *tube zither of the Malagasy Republic, also of Ceram, Gorong, Halmahera, W. New Guinea, made of bamboo with 7–20 strings raised at both ends by small sticks forming individual bridges. It is played in an upright position, plucked with bare fingers.
