Gould Gould, instrument inventor and manufacturer at 100 Grand Street, entered an improved transposing guitar, and an improved banjo in the 1853 New York Crystal Palace Exhibition. (Official Catalogue 1853:95) Nothing further is presently known about his career, and his relation to the music publisher John E. Gould of the well-known firm Gould & Berry, has not been established.
