Smith, Jacob
Smith, JacobSmith, JacobJacob Smith The only record of this maker appears in 1827 when Smith, a piano-maker from 26th Street, joined a volunteer fire engine company whose membership included piano makers Seabury, Snyder, Charles Taylor, Kenard, Van Horne, Rogers, and Wentworth. (MCC 1917:16:543) All these men might have been employed as apprentices in the same local piano shop, possibly that of R. & W. Nunns, which was located on Third Avenue and 26th Street.
