Créuse

Créuse, also called Créuse l’Athénienne, is a lyric tragedy in five acts and a prologue for which La Coste wrote the music. Pierre-Charles Roy created its libretto. It enjoyed little success and was dropped after its first run from 5 April to 12 May 1712. It was billed on 22 dates. In an ingenious prologue, La Fable and L’Histoire argue over the question of who between them has produced the most admirable heroes.
