Vaugirard, rue de , was the location of the Bel-Air tennis court to which Lully moved his opera company. The troupe had been performing until then in the tennis court called La Bouteille, situated in the rue Mazarine. The Florentine inaugurated this structure near the Luxembourg palace on 15 November 1672, but he left it within a year to open with Pomone at the first Palais-Royal theatre on 17 June 1673.
