Cuvelier, Louis-Antoine , DIT Cuvelier père (?; 1754 ?), singer, has no history before his entrance into the Opéra in 1725. He was a skilled actor as well as a talented vocalist, and his specialty was the portrayal of old women. Hence his great success was his depiction of the ridiculous heroine of Les Amours de Ragonde, although he was versatile enough to win applause as Sancho in Don Quichotte chez la duchesse 13 months later in 1743.
