Erixène

Erixène is a pastoral in one act taken from Guarini’s Il Pastor fido. Its score was written by Désaugiers, and its libretto was begun by Voisenon and finished by Guillard after the former’s death. It had its premiere at the Palais-Royal on 24 September 1780, but it aroused no enthusiasm among spectators and had to be dropped from the repertory after its only other representations on 26 September and 3 October 1780.
