Herbain, le chevalier d’

Herbain, le chevalier d’ (1734, Paris; 1769, Paris), composer, was a captain in the French infantry, a knight of Saint Louis, and a member of the Academy of Corsica. His first work for the theatre was an intermezzo entitled Il Geloso. This composition, for which he did the music, had its world premiere in Rome during a trip that Herbain took to Italy in 1751.
