Aspasie et Périclès

Aspasie et Périclès was an opera in a single act with a libretto by Jean Viennet, a score by Etienna Méhul’s nephew Louis Daussoigne-Méhul and choreography by Pierre Gardel (see eighteenth-century volume for Méhul and Gardel). It was produced at the Royal Academy of Music for the first time on 17 July 1820, but it did not prove very popular and had to be dropped after its 17th performance on 28 March 1821.
