La Favorite

La Favorite is an opera in four acts with a score by Gaetano Donizetti and a libretto by Alphonse Royer and Jean-Nicolas-Gustave Vaë. The choreography was created by Mabille. The work was extremely successful and did not disappear from repertory until 1918. It had its world premiere at the Royal Academy of Music in Paris on 2 December 1840 and went on to enjoy 692 performances at the Opéra.
