Paillasse

Paillasse, or Pagliacci, is an opera in a prologue and two acts for which Ruggiero Leoncavallo created the score and libretto. It had its world premiere at the Teatro del Verme on 21 May 1892, and it was produced in London (1893) and New York (1893) before it was staged at the Grand Théâtre in Bordeaux during 1894 in a French version by Eugène Crosti . This French text was used again at Brussels in 1895 at the Théâtre de la Monnaie, and it had its Paris premiere in 1899 at a private performance…
