Sangalli, Rita (1850, Milan; November 1909, Carpesino d’Arcellasco, Erba), ballerina, studied dancing at the ballet school affiliated with La Scala opera house in Milan. She made her professional debut at this theatre in Flick e Flock , and it was not long before she was recognized as an exceptional woman not only on account of her unusual charm but also because she possessed a striking mezzo-soprano voice and a knowledge of seven languages.
