Thamara

Thamara was an opera in two acts and four tableaux with a score by Louis Bourgault-Ducoudray and a libretto by Louis Gallet. It had its world premiere at the Garnier Palace on 28 December 1891 in a production by Lapissida. Its choreography was established by Joseph Hansen. Carpezat provided its sets, and Bétout designed its costumes. The opera is set in the city of Bakou-la-Sainte on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea.
