Cliff Friend Composer Cincinnati, Ohio, October 1, 1893; Las Vegas, Nevada, June 27, 1974. Friend was active during the 1920s and 1930s, mostly working with lyricist Dave Franklin. Friend’s father was a classical violinist, and Cliff was trained as a pianist at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
