Alex Kramer Composer Montreal, Canada, May 30, 1903; Fairfield, Connecticut, February 10, 1998. Kramer is best remembered for his collaborations with his wife, Joan Whitney (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, June 26, 1914; Westport, Connecticut, July 12, 1990), on a string of hits in the 1940s and 1950s. Kramer was trained at McGill Conservatory, and also worked on local radio as a pianist.
