Evelyn was brought up in a convent in Paris and studied music at the Vienna Academy under Robert Fuchs, Eusebius Mandyczewski, Richard Heuberger and Hugo Reinhold. She studied under Felix Draeseke and Eduard Reus at the Dresden Conservatory where she received a composition prize for her Fantastic symphony. She also studied under Sophie Menter in Munich. She was a prompter at the Stadtheater, Nuremberg, the Royal Theatre, Darmstadt, the German Opera, Berlin and at Bayreuth (1914)....
