MORRISON, GEORGE. Jazz bandleader (9 September 1891 in Fayette, Missouri; 5 November 1974 in Denver, Colorado). He came from a musical family. His grandfather and father were dance fiddlers, and his brother played string instruments. The boys had a group, the Morrison Brother String Band, which played for social entertainments in Fayette, Missouri, and surrounding areas.
