Je n'ai plus que les os

Je n'ai plus que les os (FR) I Am Nothing But Bones. Poulenc's setting (1924 / 25, Poèmes de Ronsard #4) for voice and piano of a sonnet by Ronsard. The poem was written late in Ronsard's life (30 October 1585), dictated to a friend from his sickbed, and was published in 1586. It is the first of six »Sonets« [sic] forming part of the »Derniers Vers« (Last Poems). The song is dedicated to Madame Croiza.
