Lalo, Mme. Edouard (Marie)

Lalo, Mme. Edouard (Marie) Born Julie-Marie-Victoire Bernier de Maligny, in 1865 she became the second wife of recently widowed composer Edouard Lalo (1823–1892). She was a fine contralto who sang at the Société nationale concerts. She is the dedicatee of Fauré's »Les Matelots« and »Tristesse.«
