Les Matelots

Les Matelots (FR) The Sailors. Fauré's setting (1865, Op. 2, #2) for voice and piano of the same-titled poem from Poésies nouvelles by Gautier. The poem, written in January 1841, is dedicated to Mlle. Nathalie Fitzjames (1819–unk.), a dancer who was in the ballet Giselle with scenario by Gautier.
