Consonnante
Consonnante (Fr.), according to Furetière (in 1690), a harpsichord-harp combination invented by Abbé Du Mont, having the body of a large harpsichord, placed upright on a pedestal, with strings on both sides of the soundboard, played harp-fashion. Presumably a large arpanetta (78). Furetière, Antoine. Dictionnaire universel. 1690.
