Guamo

Guamo *marine-shell trumpet of Cuba, and in Bayamo, Cuba, also an oxhorn. Formerly war instrs. of the Antilles, today they serve as signal instrs. Cuban Indians suspend them from their roofs. Also called cobo (152). Ortiz, Fernando. Los Instrumentos de la música afrocubana. Havana, 1952–55.
