Le Carnaval et la Folie is a comedy-ballet in four acts and a prologue with music by André-Cardinal Destouches and a libretto by Houdard de La Motte. Its prologue and first act were performed before the king at Fontainebleau on Sunday, 14 October 1703, but it did not have its world premiere at the Palais-Royal until 3 January 1704.
