L’Epreuve villageoise

L’Epreuve villageoise is a pantomime ballet in two acts with music by Persuis based upon Grétry’s score for the original work of the same title mounted at the Théâtre-Italien on 24 June 1784. Milon’s choreography for the later composition given at the Opéra on 4 April 1815 was similarly inspired by Deforges ’s choreography of 1784.
