Hypermnestre

Hypermnestre is a lyric tragedy in five acts and a prologue with music by Gervais and a libretto by Joseph de Lafont (see seventeenth-century volume for Gervais and Lafont). The unpublished Le Journal de l’Opéra gives the date of its premiere as 5 November 1716 and adds that some authors prefer to date its first performance as 3 November 1716.
