Le Papillon

Le Papillon was a pantomine-ballet in two acts and four tableaux with a score by Jacques Offenbach, a libretto by Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges and Marie Taglioni, and choreography by Marie Taglioni alone. Its scenery was created by Cambon , Thierry , Despléchin , Nolau , Rusé, and Martin . Le Papillon aroused a certain amount of interest even before it was produced because it was the first and only ballet for which the famous Taglioni did the choreography.
