La Vivandière

La Vivandière was a pantomimic ballet in a single act with a scenario by Arthur Saint-Léon. It had its world premiere in Rome at the Teatro Albert on 22 November 1843, when it was billed under the title of La Vivandiera ed il postiglione, and it was produced at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London on 23 May 1844, but it was not mounted at the Garnier Palace until 20 October 1848, three months after the presentation of Saint-Léon’s Le Violon du diable.
