Le Siège de Thionville, with a score by Louis Jadin and a libretto by Saulnier and Dutilh , was presented as a lyric drama in two acts. It had its premiere on 14 June 1793, and it was pointed out with pride that none of its characters was a woman because only republicans and soldiers were of prime interest in these difficult times.
