Niyazi [Neeyizée] (Tagi-zade-Gadzhibekov, Niyazi Zul'fugarovich) (8–7/20–1912, Tbilisi; 1984). Cond. and comp. Son of Z. Gadzhibekov , nephew of U. Gadzhibekov , and cousin of S. Gadzhibekov . From 1926–31 studied at the Gnesin Mus. Sch. and the L. Cons. with Gnesin, G. Popov , and A. Stepanyan . Continued his training with Rudol'f at the Baku Cons. (1933–34), then led the Azerbaijan Sym.
