Petipa, Lucien (22 December 1815, Marseilles; 7 July 1898, Versailles), dancer, was the eldest son of Jean-Antoine Petipa and the brother of Marius Petipa . His father accepted an engagement as balletmaster in Brussels at the Théâtre de la Monnaie after Hus’ death in 1822, and he opened a dancing school where his two sons were doubtlessly among his pupils.
